DescriptionThe Embedded Software Engineer develops software and firmware source code in C/C++, Embedded C, and other languages following specified design, operational and cost constraints. Designs microcontroller based hardware including SoC, RFIC and other modules used in IoT solutions. Works on sophisticated, challenging projects needing cutting edge technical or commercial expertise with wireless technologies.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experienceMicroprocessor, digital, analog, software design, and troubleshooting experienceSolid programming experience with C languageExperience with TCP/IP, Ethernet, and data networksCellular telecommunication experienceExcellent work attendance recordMinimum of eight years of engineering experienceCommitment to doing the job right the first timeAbility to learn technical materials quicklyAbility to work tactfully under deadline pressureStrong problem-solving skillsHigh degree of accuracy and ability to work with detailsTypical Duties and Responsibilities: SoftwareDesigns, writes, maintains, tests, and debugs software that is modular, maintainable, and easy to understand.Learns and maintains existing software products.Uses debuggers, emulators, and compilers/assemblers for software development.Analyzes functional requirements and translates them into product design.Participates in the formal code inspection process with various product lines.Works with other staff and colleagues to clarify details and design test plans; records these in specification documents.Solves problems and works with a team or independently to meet project needs.OtherMeets deadlines while conforming to DMP quality standards.Protects operations by keeping information confidential.Acknowledges responsibility to satisfy the customer, reduce cycle time, and eliminate waste.Observes company policies and continuously strives to find processes that improve efficiency while maintaining conformance to requirements.Observes and adheres to the DMP Data Classification Standard.May perform related duties or fill in for others in the department or other departments when requested.
