Location: St Kateri Tekakwitha Parish - Tucson, AZ Job Id: 3624 # of Openings: 1 Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Mission Parish Job Description Job Title: Parish Cook/Housekeeper S tatus: Part Time Exemption Status: Non-exempt Salary Grade: $15.45 per hour Department/Location: St. Kateri Tekakwitha Mission Parish Rectory, 101 W. 31 st Street, Tucson, AZ 85713 Primary Function: Under the direction of the Pastor or Parish Administrator is responsible for providing meals for the pastor, other clergy, or visiting guests.The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform in support of the parish's spiritual and pastoral mission. Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employee's professional and private life and shall govern his/her professional and private life in strict accordance with Catholic morals and principles to demonstrate complete adherence to Catholic moral strictures. Clean and maintain the parish residence by dusting, sweeping, mopping, waxing, andvacuuming as necessary. Provide or arrange for laundry services for the Pastor, clergy and guests as required. Wash and dry clothes and linens and arrange for dry cleaning. Ensure living quarters are clean at all times. Work within allotted budget guidelines. Respect the privacy of those in residence and maintain confidentiality of parishinformation. Perform other duties as assigned Physical/Mental Requirements Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal household environment. Required Activities Walking; sitting standing; stooping; reaching; talking; handling, hearing; carrying; and climbing. Basic Qualifications Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church; be in full communion with the Church. Excellent communications skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills. Exercise courtesy to fellow employees; interact with priests and others in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner. Must be a self-starter; well organized; perform multiple tasks simultaneously and workwith a sense of urgency. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must at all times; Ability to travel local as required; weekend and overtime work may be required. A thorough knowledge of the use of the tools and equipment associated withhousekeeping. Possess a valid Arizona driver's license. Ability to successfully pass a background, criminal history, and credit history check. Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance Education and Experience High school graduate or equivalent Comprehensive knowledge of modern cooking procedures and health and hygiene requirements One years’ experience as a cook in a commercial or private environment Other/Prederred skills Covenants of Employment St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church is a Roman Catholic religious organization and that all employees are expected to respect and conduct themselves in accordance with the values, teachings, and morals of the Roman Catholic Church and by Arizona state law.
