The purpose of this classification is to develop, implement, and coordinate special events for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Event Planning, Arts Administration, Management, Entertainment Management, Hospitality Management, Recreation or a related field; supplemented by three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in special events planning and coordination, event production, hospitality, marketing, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license. Physical Requirements : This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met. Sensory Requirements : Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. Environmental Factors : Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
